Last Saturday, an emotional moment took place for the human rights collective of the northern zone as a tribute was paid to the students, alumni, and teachers who were victims of state terrorism at the centenary Artigas College in San Fernando. The initiative came from the Student Center of the institution, with the collaboration of various educational community actors and the 'Barrios por Memoria y Justicia de Zona Norte' space, which made it possible to place three 'Memory Tiles' at the entrance to the building at 3 de Febrero 1810. The project, developed throughout the 2025 academic year, was declared of Municipal Interest by the Honorable Deliberative Council of San Fernando. The most emotional moment arrived when members of 'Barrios por Memoria y Justicia Zona Norte' placed the tiles to forever remember Bacchini Héctor Federico, disappeared on November 25, 1976; Bao, Oscar Alfredo, disappeared on February 22, 1977; Barberini, Enrique, disappeared on May 28, 1976; Burga, Alfonsina Juana, disappeared on July 1, 1976; Cepeda, Olga Ana, disappeared on July 6, 1977; De Raffaelli Silvia, disappeared on December 28, 1976; and Hurst, Eduardo Luis, disappeared on August 4, 1976. The framework of the event was ideal as relatives of the disappeared, a total of 21, human rights organizations, social, political, and trade union groups, and citizens attended, reaffirming that one of the founding premises of the current democratic period is based on the axis of Memory, Truth, and Justice.
